![]() ![]() ![]() It's called a Pocketbook Basic and the screen is obscenely crisp and only tactile controls (no touch screen or light at all). I loved the Kindle 4 (baby Kindle) and actually found it's spiritual successor. ![]() Adding that cool/warm last year was fine but my old Likebook thats years old already had it. I was getting every iteration but haven't bought one in a few years. There are a lot of options these days and with Calibre (mentioned in this thread), you have the flexibility to move around your collection with ease. i.e Project Gutenberg and other free book websites. So it looks like a Kobo Libra 2 for me next! I have not bought any books from Amazon for a few years, there are plenty of other sources available. I can get a new battery for around $20 from China so I may do that to extend it's life. No backlight but I have the original Amazon Kindle case with built in light and that's still functioning OK. I have a Kindle 3 keyboard, still plodding on after nearly 10 years, but is starting to feel its age now - battery life is shorter, page turns take a consciously, relatively, long time and the case has a few cracks. Thanks to the posters who have indicated various methods to accomplish this. I'm trying to sort it so she can find her books like she used to. She is no technophobe and is completely confused by the "new" interface. Well, after following all the threads here and the fact that my wife's PW has just updated to the rubbish, so called "improved" software, I have decided that no way will I buy another Kindle. ![]()
